Report: 85% of U.S. manufacturers are implementing AI to help drive productivity

Fictiv has released the findings from its eighth-annual State of Manufacturing Report. Decisionmakers across the U.S. manufacturing sector were surveyed and their opinions on the industry were captured in the report, which was created in partnership with Dimensional Research. The report highlights leaders’ views on the economy, workforce shortages, and new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI). Key finding from the survey include:
93% of respondents are taking steps to address the skilled labor shortage
85% of companies are planning/have already implementing AI solutions, with 97% expecting AI to improve product development and manufacturing
49% of respondents are focusing on prioritizing new product innovation
In a recent quote, Fictiv CEO and Co-Founder Dave Evans said, "The silver lining of the macro environment is that it's pushing technology to the forefront in the manufacturing industry. Leaders are set on accelerated growth and product innovation, but recognize they need better digital tools to empower their workforce and protect against economic risk.
