Leidos to build $31.7 million security systems manufacturing facility in South Carolina

The science and technology company will invest $31.7 million into the project and will generate 170 new jobs for the surrounding area.

Leidos will soon begin building a new security systems manufacturing facility in North Charleston, South Carolina. The science and technology company will invest $31.7 million into the project and will generate 170 new jobs for the surrounding area. According to the company, its latest 150,000-square-foot facility will produce security systems for Leidos’ Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) operation. This will be Leidos’ third facility in the U.S. and is expected to be operational in the first half of 2024.

In a recent quote, Jim Moos, Leidos Civil Group president, said, “This facility brings more manufacturing back into the U.S. and expands Leidos’ global security capabilities for the aviation and critical infrastructure markets. We’re thrilled to expand into the North Charleston area and look forward to making a positive impact in the community.”
