GAF Energy finishes construction on solar roofing manufacturing plant in Texas

GAF Energy has announced the completion of its manufacturing facility in Georgetown, Texas. The Standard Industries company will produce Timberline Solar Energy Shingle (ES) at the new facility, which will be fully operational by the end of 2023. According to the company, the new plant will increase its capacity by 500% and bring total production of its solar shingle to 300 megawatts annually. When the facility is at full capacity, it will employ over 240 workers.
In a recent quote, Martin DeBono, President of GAF Energy, said, “We’re thrilled to be building the future of solar here in Georgetown. The community has welcomed us with open arms, confirming everything we thought when we made the decision to expand to Texas. We’ve begun hiring and already have dozens of people ready to make the best solar roofing on the market right here in Georgetown. We firmly believe that manufacturing in America speeds the innovation cycle and allows us to deliver the best product for our customers.”
