Lucid expands Arizona manufacturing plant to help produce its fully electric SUV
Lucid Group has announced plans to expand its U.S. Advanced Manufacturing Plant (AMP-1) in Casa Grande, Arizona. The company will use the expansion to improve its manufacturing capabilities just in time for the production of the company’s Lucid Gravity, a fully electric SUV. The expanded facility will feature a 3-million-square-foot manufacturing facility and warehouse, as well as a vertically integrated stamping facility. The project, when completed, will encompass a general assembly line, quality and semi-knock down (SKD) centers, expanded body and paint shops, logistics center, and a powertrain facility.
In a recent quote, Peter Rawlinson, CEO and CTO at Lucid, said, “The expansion of our manufacturing footprint in Arizona is a significant milestone for the company, as we prepare for the next phase of Lucid’s growth. Our expanded state-of-the-art factory will allow us to continue to deliver our great cars to our customers around the world, including the Lucid Gravity in the near future. We are proud to call Casa Grande home, to continue in our role pioneering advanced technology in Arizona, and to be an American electric vehicle company.”
