Gerresheimer has announced plans to expand its manufacturing operations in Peachtree City, Georgia. The company, which specializes in pharmaceutical containment solutions, drug delivery systems, and medical devices, will invest $88 million into the project, generating 200 new jobs in the process. The new facility will produce medical devices, specifically autoinjectors that are used to administer injectable drugs. Operations are expected to begin in autumn 2024. The company is also in the middle of an expansion of its existing Georgia facility, which will create 180 new jobs for Peachtree City. The expansion is expected to be completed in April 2024.
In a recent quote, Dietmar Siemssen, CEO of Gerresheimer AG, said, “We appreciate the continuous support of the State of Georgia for our expansion in the U.S.. The U.S. market is an important growth driver for us, and the expansion of our operations in Peachtree City will be key for growing our medical device business in the U.S. We are glad that we have found such favorable conditions and a highly motivated and skilled staff here.”
