NanoGraf opens new manufacturing, R&D facility in Illinois to help develop stronger batteries
NanoGraf has recently opened a new manufacturing and research and development facility in Chicago, Illinois. The advanced battery material company’s new 67,850-square-foot plant features manufacturing space, laboratories, inventory, and office space. NanoGraf’s mission is to help develop stronger, lighter, longer-lasting lithium-ion batteries and claims that its silicon anode material allows its batteries to last 30% longer and be cross-compatible with more devices. The project will generate 60 new jobs for the area and hopefully help onshore the battery supply chain.
In a recent quote, Francis Wang, CEO of NanoGraf, said, “NanoGraf is developing better battery materials here in the United States. With our second facility, we’ll be able to advance our work on our Department of Defense contracts, ensuring that soldiers have the power they need to complete their missions.”
