Police were called when it was revealed that one employee had never clocked out.

The body of a longtime employee was found inside a chemical tank at the Metalsa manufacturing plant in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.  Travis Breese and Sarah Magin for WHAS11 reported that police were called when it was revealed that one employee, 59-year-old Franklin Logsdon, had never clocked out.

According to Alex Suckow for WLKY, the victim’s personal belongings were found close to a chemical storage tank. After the tank was drained, Logsdon's body was discovered.

Gina Clear for The News-Enterprise uncovered that accidents at the plant are not uncommon. According to Clear, this is the second death at the facility in slightly more than two years. The previous victim, Lance Winemiller, was hit by a forklift in June 2022 and suffered fatal injuries.

According to Metalsa’s website, the company produces automotive components, with an emphasis on chassis structure for light and commercial vehicles.
