$7.3 million available for 37 small, medium manufacturers to improve energy efficiency
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has made more than $7.3 million available for 37 small- and medium-sized manufacturers (SMMs) across the country. The funding, which comes from the Industrial Assessment Centers (IAC) Implementation Grants program, will be used to help the manufacturers upgrade their plants to save energy, reduce climate pollution, and strengthen the U.S. manufacturing sector.
Manufacturers can also secure additional funding by applying for grants through the IAC program throughout the next year. Under the IAC Implementation Grants program, manufacturers can receive up to $300,000 per funding round to implement recommendations made by the DOE. This funding is made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the program is administered by the DOE’s Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains Office (MESC).
What people are saying
In a recent quote, U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm said, “The clean energy transition presents a world of new opportunities for the American workforce. The Biden-Harris Administration is training the next generation of workers to enable small-and-medium sized manufacturers to increase their energy efficiency all while lowering costs and reducing emissions.”
