The new line will be used to supply American automakers with high-quality components.

Hydro has announced plans to add a new casting line to its aluminum recycling plant in Henderson, Kentucky. The company, which specializes in aluminum and renewable energy, will invest $85 million into the project. According to the company, the new line will be used to supply American automakers with high-quality components. The project is expected to be completed in 2026 and will generate 31 new jobs for the surrounding area. The company claims that the new line will increase capacity by 28 000 tonnes (62 million pounds) of aluminum. To help aid the project, Hydro will receive tax incentives from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA).

What people are saying

In a recent quote, Hydro’s President and CEO, Eivind Kallevik, said, “This investment is another step along Hydro’s journey to change the game in aluminum production. Recycling more end-of-life scrap reduces emissions, strengthens security of supply and enables us to deliver new, cutting-edge products to our U.S. customers.”
