Shelbyville Battery Manufacturing invests $712M to open new facility in Kentucky

Shelbyville Battery Manufacturing has announced plans to open a battery cell, module and packaging manufacturing facility in Shelbyville, Kentucky. The company, which is a subsidiary of e-Storage, will invest $712 million into the project, creating 1,572 new jobs for the surrounding area. The 6-gigawatt hour manufacturing plant will be located in a one-million-square-foot building and help support e-Storage’s growing U.S. energy storage business. Production at the new plant is expected to begin in 2025.
