Eos Energy Enterprises receives $303.5M loan to support 2 battery manufacturing plants in Pennsylvania
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has finalized a $303.5 million loan guarantee to Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc. (Eos). The loan, which is comprised of $277.5 million of principal and $26 million of capitalized interest, will be used to finance the construction of two production lines that will produce enough stationary batteries per year to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 130,000 homes. The production lines will be located in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, and will produce Eos Z3 utility- and industrial-scale zinc-bromine battery energy storage systems (BESS). Two additional lines in Duquesne, Pennsylvania, may also be included as part of the loan guarantee. By 2027, the four new lines are expected to manufacture 8 GWh of storage capacity annually and generate 1,000 new jobs for the surrounding area.
