Boeing invests $1B to upgrade South Carolina facilities, creating 500 new jobs
Boeing has announced plans to expand its operations in Charleston County, South Carolina. The company, which specializes in aerospace manufacturing, will invest $1 billion into the project, generating 500 new jobs over the next five years. The money will be used to make infrastructure upgrades at its North Charleston campuses. According to the company, this investment will support increased 787 Dreamliner production targets and potential future rate increases driven by market demand. Boeing is hoping to produce 10 airplanes per month by 2026. The upgraded facilities are expected to be operational in 2027.
