The new facility will increase SHL Medical's production capacity and strengthen its US market presence.

SHL Medical has announced plans to open a new manufacturing facility in North Charleston, South Carolina. The company, which specializes in designing and manufacturing advanced self-injection solutions, is investing $220 million into the project. The new facility, covering 360,000 square feet, will focus on the production of SHL Medical's autoinjectors, which are used in treatments for a range of health conditions, including endocrine and metabolic disorders, dermatology, and musculoskeletal diseases. The plant is expected to create over 300 new jobs in the local community.

The facility will be fully automated, utilizing medical device injection molding technology and advanced assembly capabilities. This will ensure precise, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of the autoinjectors. The North Charleston site is a key part of SHL Medical's strategy to expand its production capacity and strengthen its supply chain resilience in North America. The company plans to deliver 1.5 billion devices to customers in 2025.
