Back in May, the editors of Plant Services and its sister publications at Putman Media announced the 22 members of Putman's inaugural class of Influential Women in Manufacturing. Now, we're honored to spotlight the honorees in the just-released Influential Women in Manufacturing 2018 eBook.
In these 50 pages, meet 22 women who are creating change for their organizations and for industry as a whole. They're evolving asset management practices to bring a more-proactive, more-efficient approach to maintenance and operations. They're leading the digital transformation of their company's business planning. They're engaging via professional societies and their local school districts to support young people considering or pursuing a career in manufacturing.
They represent a wide range of industry verticals – from pharmaceutical production to oil & gas to academia to industrial automation and intelligence, and Plant Services readers will recognize several familiar names – women who were nominated by their peers in industry and who also have shared their insights with Plant Services over the years.
Among them:
- Mary Bunzel, general manager and industry leader for the Manufacturing Industry Solutions Group at Intel, who wrote in 2011 about building a case for smarter maintenance through EAM and who was featured in contributing editor Sheila Kennedy's story outlining 11 ways to make PdM more doable
- Marie Getsug, program manager of strategic consulting–asset management at Jacobs Engineering Group, featured in this Big Picture Interview and the co-author, with Stephen Holland, of our 2016 series on design for reliability
- Anne Lucietto, assistant professor at Purdue Polytechnic Institute and author of the new School's in Session blog
- Elizabeth Williams Taylor, operations manager at Eastern Oil Co., who shared tips on improving employee retention in our 2015 Workforce Survey cover story
- Rendela Wenzel, featured in Sheila Kennedy's Technology Toolbox column on women leading industrial innovation
You can hear from Getsug and Wenzel later this month at the 4th annual Smart Industry Conference – both are speakers at this year's event, taking place Sept. 24–26 at the Loews Chicago O'Hare in Rosemont, IL, and featuring the theme "Activate Your Digital Strategy."
