Building a reliability program from scratch involves a combination of training, PM improvement, and technology selection that is centered on keeping critical assets from failing unexpectedly. However, the skills required to build a reliability program are very different from the skills required to continue that success in the face of employee churn, leadership turnover, and unpredictable changes in the business landscape.
