Wanner Engineering, Inc., announces its new Q155 Series Quintuplex seal-less pumps (medium pressure models) designed for a variety of applications including reverse osmosis in water and wastewater treatment, mine dewatering, salt water disposal, salt water injection, bulk transfer, hydraulic lift, and steam generation. The Q155 Medium Pressure line includes two models: Q155K with a maximum flow rate of 78 gpm (295 l/min) and maximum discharge pressure of 3000 psi (207 bar); Q155M with a maximum flow rate of 65 gpm (246 l/min) and maximum discharge pressure of 3500 psi (241 bar).
Like all Hydra-Cell seal-less pumps, the new Hydra-Cell Q155 Series Medium Pressure Pumps are “packing-free” and designed to replace horizontal centrifugal pumps and packed plunger pumps, according to Wanner Engineering. Featuring a seal-less, multiple-diaphragm design, Q155 pumps eliminate hazardous VOC emissions and clean-up and disposal costs of packed-pump leakage. The design also eliminates the need for external lubrication and maintenance as well as plunger wear problems associated with packing. In addition to zero leakage, Q155 Series pumps can run dry without damage, will operate with a closed or blocked suction line, and can pump abrasive fluids effectively.
The seal-less Hydra-Cell Q155 Series pumps employ hydraulically-balanced diaphragms that enable the pump to handle high pressures with low stress and pump hot, abrasive fluids, Wanner Engineering says. The seal-less design eliminates the environmental concerns of packed plunger pumps and the multiple-diaphragm design provides virtually pulse-free, linear flow.
